Community

The need for connection and community is primal, as fundamental as the need for air, water, and food.
- Dean Ornish

This season we have selected a series of themes to inspire stories of community and the things that bring us together.

Themes are open to creative interpretation and it's always great to hear the amazing variety of stories at each event.

Stories about the chance encounters and events that set life onto unexpected paths.

- Sat, 3 June -

Stories about kinship, acceptance,
unlikely friendships, and finding a place
that feels like home.

- Sat, 7 October -
"Elsewhere"

Stories about travels, journeys, and how the grass looks greener on the other side.

- Sat, 1 April -
"Life lines"

Stories about lending a hand,
life's journeys, and saving grace.

* Theme descriptions are only suggestions,
themes are open to creative interpretation.

Growing our community with stories

We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories.
There isn't a stronger connection between people than storytelling.

-
Jimmy Niel Smith

Nimbin Storytellers is a place for people to come together and share a true personal story about something that, in some big or small way, has shaped who they are today.

The stories being shared are witty and light-hearted, tender and sad, inspiring and uplifting. The atmosphere is supportive and warm. We leave full to the brim knowing that, despite our differences, everyone is trying their best to weave their way through the world. Through this ancient ritual of storytelling, that is both modern and timeless, we find a connection with one another that feels essential and life affirming.

Story Group

Story Group is a great casual morning where we workshop our story ideas over a coffee. Come along to learn more about us or to test the waters with a friendly, supportive group of local storytellers.

We meet on the third Sunday of the month in Nimbin (contact us or see Facebook for when & where).

All are welcome.
